NASDTEC's Model Code of Ethics
NACCTEP would like to highlight the excellent work of the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC)
Model Code of Ethics
The MCEE serves as a guide for future & current educators faced with the complexities of P-12 education. The code establishes principles for ethical best practice, mindfulness, self-reflection, and decision-making, setting the groundwork for self-regulation & self-accountability. The establishment of this professional code of ethics, by educators and for educators, honors the public trust and upholds the dignity of the profession.
Video Series
The Power of Professional Conversations: Model Code of Ethics for Educators video series is a free resource for pre-service and in-service educators to foster conversations about ethical decision-making in a complex, fast-paced profession. It is composed of five video segments, and a discussion guide related to professional ethics, and more specifically, the Model Code of Ethics for Educators (MCEE).
Video Discussion Guide
The above resources were created by a national panel of experts under the auspices of NASDTEC. Permission is hereby granted to staff in state and local educational agencies and in educational institutions to reproduce the Model Code of Ethics and the supporting documentation provided by NASDTEC for purposes of advising discussion, and adoption and/or adaption of the Model Code of Ethics into law or regulations.
