2025 NACCTEP Scholarship Application
Each applicant must meet all of the following eligibility requirements. The applicant must:

Currently attend a NACCTEP member college. Please contact NACCTEP at 480-517-8074 or email nacctep@riosalado.edu to verify your college's membership status.

Be in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale);

Be enrolled in and maintain a minimum of six credit hours at a NACCTEP member college during the (current academic year) SPRING semester.

Be enrolled in and maintain a minimum of six credit hours at a NACCTEP member college or transfer to an education program at a four-year institution during the (following academic year) FALL semester; and

Have earned a minimum of 18 college credit hours by the end of the (following academic year) FALL semester (for alternative certification/post-baccalaureate program students, credits may be from their bachelor’s degree program course of study).
APPLICATION MATERIALS
Applications will be scored based upon how well applicants address application requirements and professional appearance of the overall application. Additional materials will not be considered. Convert all supplemental application materials (transcripts, essay, letter of recommendation, and service experiences) to pdf format and upload them via the upload file button located on the application.
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must complete and include all of the following:

A completed online application.

An application with missing information will be considered incomplete and disqualified.

One letter of recommendation

The letter must be written by a faculty member or administrator at the applicant’s college and include a signature, title, and contact number; single-sided and on college letterhead is preferred but not required.

The letter must specifically address the individual applicant’s personal strengths, leadership qualities, academic achievements, and potential to become a Pre-k - 12 teacher.

An essay describing the following:
-
Two concrete reasons you chose to pursue a career in the teaching profession.
-
Your career plans upon completion of your bachelor’s degree or alternative certification/post- baccalaureate program of study, including grades/subjects you plan to teach.

Specifically, how this scholarship will help you to complete your education and attain your career goals.

Must be double-spaced, and a maximum of three pages in 11- or 12-point font.

Teaching, community, and/or campus service experiences:

A list and description of teaching, community, and/or campus service experiences, including dates and roles, must be submitted.

The experiences listed should include only those participated in during the time of college attendance or in pre-education courses in high school. This may include teaching experiences, club activities, and work/volunteer activities with early childhood and/or K-12 children.

This list/description must be separate from the essay, double-spaced, and a maximum of one page in 11- or 12-point font.

Transcripts:

Undergraduate students may submit unofficial transcripts in pdf format showing cumulative GPA for all college coursework.

Alternative certification/post-baccalaureate program students must send official or unofficial bachelor’s degree program of study transcripts showing cumulative GPA; and unofficial transcripts showing cumulative GPA for all completed post-baccalaureate coursework.

Course Schedule:

Applicants must send an official or unofficial college-generated copy of their (current academic year) SPRING semester course schedule.

SCHEDULE:

Scholarship application deadline for applicants is Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Screened applications, guidelines and rubric will be emailed to committee members on Thursday, December 12, 2024.

Scoring sheets from committee members should be emailed to NACCTEP by Monday, December 23, 2024.

Committee members will be meet to finalize selected recipients on Monday, December 23, 2024.

Notification letters will be sent by Thursday, January 2, 2025.
APPLICATIONS THAT DO NOT MEET ALL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR
DO NOT INCLUDE ALL DOCUMENTS WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE DISQUALIFIED.
