NACCTEP is once again holding a Pre-Conference ahead of the AACTE Annual Meeting this coming February in New Orleans, LA.
Community College Teacher Education Research, Policy, and Practice

The National Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs (NACCTEP) is pleased to host its annual pre-conference event, "Community College Teacher Education Research, Policy, and Practice," on February 19, 2026, the day before the AACTE Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA. This convening highlights innovative approaches, research findings, policy developments, and promising practices that elevate community colleges as essential contributors to educator preparation.
We are excited to announce our call for proposals and invite you to share how your work is advancing community college educator preparation, policy initiatives, and impactful practices. Proposals can be from individuals or teams representing single or multiple institutions or organizations. We particularly encourage proposals that include varied perspectives from community college faculty, teacher candidates, P–12 school partners, policymakers, and community stakeholders.

Acceptance notifications: Friday, October 24, 2025

Pre-Conference Date: February 19, 2026
Session Times and Format:
Sessions will take place in-person from 1:00–5:00 p.m. CST and will be 30–45 minutes long. Available session formats include:

Presentation followed by audience Q&A (1–3 presenters; 30–45 minutes)

Panel discussion with audience Q&A (2–3 panelists and 1 moderator; 30–45 minutes)

Interactive roundtable discussion (1–2 facilitators on focused topics; 30–45 minutes)

Research highlighting effective practices and outcomes in community college teacher education

Policy developments impacting community college teacher preparation pathways

Successful practices in creating sustainable transfer partnerships with four-year institutions

Innovations in enhancing educator preparation pathways through community colleges

Integrating technology and artificial intelligence in community college teacher education programs
Attendees of the NACCTEP Pre-conference will also have the opportunity to attend a social hour to further network with colleagues and our speakers.
