Mathematics Content for Elementary and Early Childhood Educators
Maryland's community college Associate of Arts in Teaching programs for Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education were recently updated to reflect current standards. In a collaborative effort, two-year and four-year faculty created a framework for the mathematics content courses which are part of this degree in alignment with the CAEP standards and the recommendations of Mathematics Education of Teachers II (Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences, 2012). After completion of the outcomes and indicators document, the project expanded to provide a resource website and an online Community of Practice to support faculty as they develop pedagogical content knowledge in their students.

Free Online Resources About Evidence-Based Practices
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the primary mission of the IRIS Center is to develop and disseminate engaging, interactive online resources about evidence-based practices to help teachers improve the education and behavior outcomes for all students, particularly struggling learners and those with disabilities. Learn about the thousands of resources available and get tips for using them in your courses to expand the breadth and depth of content coverage on topics like behavior and classroom management, working with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, accommodations for students with disabilities, and more.
