Sunday Panel
Voices from New Orleans: The Role of Education in Healing and
Rebuilding a Community

What we have all seen in photos, on television, and read can never fully portray the tragedy experienced by the citizens of New Orleans. This special panel session will feature local school representatives from New Orleans who will share their personal thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Hear their voices and learn about the vital role of education in uniting and healing their communities.

From this session you can take back to your institutions insightful and moving stories about overcoming unforeseen disasters and the role of educators in rebuilding lives and communities. No one knows what the future may bring, but as educators we have the responsibility of developing bright, talented, and compassionate future teachers for our communities.

Dr. Robin Jarvis, Superintendent, Recovery School District

Dr. Jerry Pinsel, Vice President of Student & Academic Affairs, Louisiana Community     and Technical College System
