Message From The Director

Dear NACCTEP Members,

I want to personally thank all of you who attended this year’s NACCTEP conference Discover the Future of Community College Teacher Education Programs. Over two-hundred attendees representing community colleges from across the country enjoyed dynamic keynote speakers, and innovative educational sessions and forums focusing on community college teacher education programs, policy, partnerships, and practice. In addition, the NASA pre-conference, Cosmic Science, and our newest addition to the conference schedule, the Regional Roundtable Session, were both well received. Conference evaluations demonstrate your continued satisfaction with the conference, and we appreciate your positive feedback. Please see the article in this newsletter highlighting evaluation results.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the following entities whose sponsorships enriched, enhanced, and supported the 2009 annual conference.

• Silver Sponsor: Educational Testing Service (ETS)
• Diamond Sponsor: Evaluation Systems/Pearson
• Bronze Sponsors: BlackBoard, Western Governors University, and TaskStream

We also thank the League for Innovation in the Community College for supporting NACCTEP to provide the best possible conference.

Work has already begun on next year’s conference in Baltimore, Maryland. Don’t miss the opportunity to “connect” with your colleagues at the NACCTEP Connecting Communities: Working together to advance community college teacher education programs conference March 26-28, 2010. Watch for additional information on the NACCTEP website this summer.

Finally, thank you to the NACCTEP Executive Board and the staff from the National Center for Teacher Education for supporting each of you in this growing Association.

Have a safe and relaxing summer.
